Olympic Seismic Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Seitel, Inc., was formed in Calgary, Alberta in February 1998. The company was created to manage the existing Seitel Canadian databases and to meet the growing demand for 3D seismic creation in the Canadian market. Olympic continues to provide access to previously unavailable 2D and 3D data at affordable prices and is Canada’s largest seismic data provider.

The ever expanding Olympic Seismic database is comprised of over 650,000 kilometers of 2D and 12,000 square miles of 3D seismic data. In order to provide easy and instant access to our extensive library, we have developed the most technologically advanced web-based seismic viewing capability in the market today. The majority of our data is stored at Olympic’s 35,000 square foot data storage and services facility from which we regularly provide one to two day turnarounds on seismic data deliveries to our clients.

Our 3D acquisition program designs and operations incorporate the latest geophysical techniques and our “partnering” business model allows our clients to acquire data at greatly reduced rates. At Olympic Seismic, the value of our 3D expertise is measured by our clients’ exploration successes.
